Welcome the New Year with “Salute to Vienna”, patterned after Vienna’s world famous “Neujahrskonzert”, returning for a glorious 18th season with a fresh, new program. A festive New Year’s concert, featuring a brilliant new cast of over 75 musicians, stellar European singers and dancers in beautiful costumes. A light hearted blend of popular Strauss waltzes, polkas and famous operetta excerpts from “Die Fledermaus”, “The Merry Widow” and more-something for everyone to enjoy!

Over eighteen years ago, founders and producers, Attila and Marion Glatz, wanted to bring a live rendition of Vienna’s cherished NEUJAHRSZONZERT tradition to North America. A sold-out performance at Toronto’s Roy Thomson Hall and New York City’s Avery Fisher Hall, Lincoln Center, turned the dream into reality, paving the way for SALUTE TO VIENNA to morph into the largest simultaneously produced concert series on this side of the globe.

This coming season, NEW YEAR’S CONCERT 2013 showcases Salute to Vienna in 19 of North America’s finest concert halls. Over fifty thousand people will be dazzled from Strathmore and New York to L.A. and from Vancouver to Québec. Artistic Directors Attila and Marion Glatz were awarded the prestigious Decoration of Merit in Gold from the Austrian Government for their tireless devotion and efforts in bridging our 2 cultures. Light-hearted and fun-there is something for everyone to enjoy!
